A message from our President

We’re just a matter of days from the start of the 2022 cricket season. I for one am looking forward to an almost “back to normal” summer of cricket. These past two and a half years have been tough on us all. It is a credit to everyone involved in this cricket club to see us heading into the new season in the best shape we have ever been.

Looking back on 2021

Season 2021 could be described as probably one the best season in terms of achievements. That is both on and off the field. Balbriggan Cricket Club was nominated by Cricket Leinster in the Cricket Ireland “Club of the year” category. Also for the first time in our history, Balbriggan CC will this season be competing in the LCU Premier League. Thanks to winning the Championship in emphatic style last season.

All our teams, players, coaches, mentors, parents, volunteers, committee members etc can take a well deserved bow and be proud of what you have achieved both collectively and individually. You have made this great Cricket Club even greater and I am so proud to be called your President.

Women’s Section

I am absolutely delighted Balbriggan CC has a Women’s and Girl’s section at last. It will be great to have women and girls teams representing us in Leinster cricket competitions this season and beyond and also to see our Women’s Social team go out and showcase their skills. And of course, enjoy the after match celebrations and craic.

The Season Ahead

Finally, can I wish you all an enjoyable and safe 2022 season. Play hard but fair and have fun in the process. Be humble in victory and gracious in defeat but above all, remember, not only are you are representing “The Brigg” you are also representing yourselves and your family. So get out there and enjoy yourselves and do us all proud.
