It’s that time of year again folks and as the preseason nets are just about to commence we are delighted to announce the captains who will hopefully lead our teams in the right direction towards more success and silverware for the club.
Starting with 4th team captain we have John Keeler who has done a fantastic job with our 3rds over the past few season. He now takes over as 4th team captain and there’s no doubt johns experience will help the development of a youthful 4th 11 who have all the assets required to challenge for silverware this year. Best of luck John and the 4ths
Now to the 3rds, we have Tayyeb who is swapping roles as 4ths captain to take over the role as the 3rds captain. Tayyeb will bring youth and enthusiasm to an already strong 3rd team who have been excellent over the past few years winning plenty of trophies/promotions over a short period of time. More hard work from the 3rds this year will no doubt see them at the right end of the table once again this season. Bet of luck tayyeb and the 3rds.
Abdul Samad resumes the role of 2nd team captain. After taking over the role early last season he helped them turn around a poor start to consolidate in a strong league as Well as picking up some silverware along the way. If the 2nds can start this season the way they played for most of last season who knows how much they could achieve over the coming season. Best of luck Abdul and the 2nds
Finally we get to the 1st team who will have Duane Harper and Ehtesham Ahmed as captains of the 50 over and 20 over teams respectively. Both guys bring a wealth of knowledge to the teams and while the club will greatly miss the outgoing overseas player Trent M who had a magnificent season last year, we wish him all the best and we welcome the new overseas player Timycen Maruma to the club. Hopefully the 1st team can push on from last year and there’s no reason why they can’t challenge for promotion in a strong division 2 as well as going on a few cup runs. Best of luck Duane and shammi and all the guys in the 1sts
